Breast Cancer Diagnosis

On November 22nd 2016, I was diagnosed with primary triple-negative breast cancer that had spread to 4 lymph nodes under my right arm. On December 28th 2016, I started four and a half months of chemotherapy, which was followed by a lumpectomy and auxillary node clearance in May 2017, a mastectomy in July 2017 and a re-excision in August 2017. I started 15 sessions of Radiotherapy in August 2017 which is being followed with another 18 weeks of chemotherapy.

In October 2017 a CT Scan and biopsy showed cancer had spread to the lymph nodes under the arm on the opposite side to the primary cancer.

I’ve been a BBC news presenter for more than 15 years and I can currently be heard reading the news and presenting the occasional programme on BBC 5 Live.
